Cristiano Ronaldo was left out of the Portugal national team squad for the friendly match against Sweden, as confirmed by the Portuguese national team’s press service.
The striker will join the Portuguese national team before the friendly match with Slovenia.
Previously, it had been reported that the 39-year-old Ronaldo was called to the Portuguese national team for friendly matches against Sweden and Slovenia.
The match between Portugal and Sweden will be held on 21 March. Five days later, Roberto Martinez’s team will meet Slovenia.
Ronaldo plays for Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia at the club level. This season, the Portuguese forward has participated in 33 matches across all tournaments, scoring 30 goals and providing 11 assists.
